A new report suggests that Asus will start shipping their Zenfone 4 smartphone series this August. The new shipping date is 4 months behind the original schedule planned in April.
After a 4-month delay, Asus will finally begin shipping their Zenfone 4 smartphone series in August this year, according to a close source. However, the source also claims that this delay could indeed backfire the company, making them incapable of scoring highly in the global smartphone market in the third quarter of 2017.
Speaking of Zenfone 4 series, the latest addition is the Zenfone 4 Max. It is a decent mid-range device featuring 5.5-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage. The phone comes in two processor variants: Snapdragon 425 and Snapdragon 430. While the former costs RUB 13,900, the pricing on the latter is unknown as of now. For imaging, there is dual 13MP sensors on the back and an 8MP on the front. However, the main highlight phone is its’ massive 5000 mAh battery.
Due to shipment delay, the Taiwan-based manufacturer is expected to face stiff competition from the upcoming products of Samsung, Sony, and Huawei. Asus had been into a similar situation with the Zenfone 3 series products in 2016, where the company could ship only about 10 million units in place of 25 million units.
