For a midrange phone, the new Huawei Y9 (2018) boasts a massive battery.

In simple words, the all-new Huawei Y9 (2018) could be termed as a redesigned Huawei Mate Lite. The major highlights of the new budget-friendly Y9 include the addition of an 18:9 display and a 4000mAh battery.

In terms of specs, the Huawei Y9 2018 edition comes with a 5.93-inch screen with a display resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels (FHD) and 18:9 aspect ratio. Other than that, it houses Kirin 659 octa-core processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

In addition to the massive 4000mAh battery, the addition of dual cameras both on the front and the rear is yet another selling point of this device. Speaking of which, the Y9 (2018) comes with a 13MP+2MP combo on the rear. The front camera is a combination of 16MP and 2MP sensors.

It’s a 2018 midrange phone, so it shouldn’t be surprising that the device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the rear, and the phone is available in three color variants — black, blue and gold.

The price point of the device isn’t official yet, however, reports suggest that it shouldn’t cost any more than €200 ($246). Also, it’s a bit disappointing that the phone is currently launched only in Thailand. However, we believe other countries will follow suit in the coming days.
