Unfortunately, Samsung couldn’t pull off a stable Android 8.0 Oreo build for their Galaxy S8/S8+ devices in 2017. However, it looks like we may not have to wait too long for that stable Oreo update as the firm has just started rolling out the final Oreo beta build to the handsets.

The new update, with software version ZRA5, weighs around 595MB and includes several bug fixes and security patches for January. Of note, the final Oreo beta is only available in India; however, we expect other regions to follow suit in a matter of time.

Samsung Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch QHD+ Infinity display, while the S8+ has a 6.2-inch QHD+ display. Besides that, both the handsets feature similar hardware configurations except for the battery size (3000mAh vs 3500mAh). Other specs include Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and 12/8MP camera combo. The S8+ is also available in a 6/128GB storage configuration.

We expect the final Oreo build for these devices to roll out by the end of January.
