Everyone and their grandma knows by now that Samsung is working on their next flagship, Galaxy S9. If Samsung follows their good ol’ roadmap, the device might likely debut at the MWC 2018. This means eager leakers have only about a month left before the official launch to reveal their top-secret information out into the wild. The latest to hit the web is a picture allegedly showcasing the retail box of the Samsung Galaxy S9.
While we already know that the S9 is going to be a small iterative upgrade over the Galaxy S8 in terms of design, we know close to nothing when it comes to the specs. But, thanks to the new leak, we now know what the incoming flagship beast will bring to the table.
As per the leaked retail box picture, the Galaxy S9 will feature a 5.8-inch curved QuadHD+ display upfront. Other specs include 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Super Speed Dual Pixel 12MP rear camera (with Super Slow-mo feature), and an 8MP front-facing camera. Sure, no details regarding the processor of the Galaxy S9 is mentioned on top of the box. However, previous rumors have told us that it might house a Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood. As with every Samsung flagships, there is going to be an Exynos chipset-powered Galaxy S9 variant for some regions.
Other features, as mentioned on the leaked box, include Iris Scanner, Wireless Charging, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, and IP68 water and dust certification.
Of note, the Galaxy S9 is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2018 alongside the Galaxy S9+. And if rumors are anything to go by, the S9+ is said to come with 6GB RAM and a dual camera setup. Both the devices will likely hit the consumer markets during the first week of March.
