A new report suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s dual rear camera setup will be far better than the others.
Every day, we are fed with leaks and rumors of Galaxy Note 8 in one form or the other. The latest one to hit our rumor mill is that the dual rear cameras on the upcoming phablet will be better than those of its competitors. Current big flagships that feature a dual rear camera setup includes the iPhone 7 Plus, LG G6, and OnePlus 5.
SamMobile reports that the dual camera on the Galaxy Note 8 will offer better image quality and better background defocus in portrait mode, when compared to competing phones in the market. Although that sounds good to hear, we prefer not to jump the gun and come to a final conclusion and wait until the phone goes official.
However, the report could likely be true considering the big announcement the company made about their new ISOCELL Dual camera sensor, at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2017.
With the latest upgrades to ISOCELL sensors, it seems that the Korean tech giant is really getting serious about the camera technology. Based on reports, Samsung will be manufacturing four types of camera sensors; including Bright, Dual, Fast and Slim. The ISOCELL Bright sensors are made for low-light photography, offering low-noise and enhanced color fidelity, while the Dual will provide several sensors which can be paired together in various configurations. And, there are Fast and Slim sensors. The former provides instantaneous autofocus capabilities with the ability to track fast-moving objects, whereas, the latter with an individual pixel size of 0.9μm or 1.0μm, is targeted for slim-sized phones.
Similar to OnePlus 5, the Galaxy Note 8 will feature a primary RGB sensor paired along with a secondary monochrome sensor. It will probably house a dual 13MP+13MP (RGB+Monochrome) camera setup, along with OIS capabilities.
According to previous leaks, the Note 8 is said to come with a 6.3-inch Infinity display, and 3,300 mAh battery. Under the hood, it will probably house an octa-core Exynos 8895 processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
