LG’s recent decision to cancel its MWC event has disappointed the tech giant’s fans around the world. Although we won’t see the much-anticipated LG V60 ThinQ go official at the Mobile World Congress tech show, the company has revealed that it will be holding a separate launch event at some point in the near future to unveil the handset. And now, a new image leak has emerged that gives away some prominent features of the upcoming handset.

The leak comes from reliable tipster Evan Blass and confirms a previously rumored hardware of the V60 ThinQ, while also revealing several other features of the smartphone. The new leaked pictures confirm the previous rumor that the upcoming LG handset will come with four rear cameras. Besides that, they also reveal the following:

    • The battery size of the LG V60 ThinQ as 5000mAh
    • The handset will come with 4ch microphones
    • the selfie camera will be located at the center
    • At the bottom, there is a USB-C port, headphone jack, and speaker grills

Full Specs of LG V60 ThinQ

When it comes to specifications, the V60 ThinQ is said to feature a massive 6.6-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 865 chipset, and up to 8GB of RAM. It is obviously not the firm’s first 5G phone, as it already has one other 5G-powered phone – LG V50 ThinQ.

And the new leak has revealed the battery size of the upcoming smartphone to be 5000mAh. Now that is indeed a huge improvement over the 2019 V series phone that came with a 4000mAh battery.

It has also been confirmed that the device will come with a quad-camera setup on the rear, although not much about the camera sensors are known at this point in time.

Dual Screen module of V60 ThinQ

Like the 2019 V50 ThinQ, the V60 ThinQ is also expected to come with an additional screen module, that you can attach to activate the dual-screen feature. It is quite a neat feature to have when you’re playing high-end games on the device.

    Release date of V60 ThinQ

It was previously rumored that LG would unveil the V60 ThinQ at the MWC event. But this is clearly not the case as the company has confirmed that they won’t be attending the event.

However, the company has confirmed that they will be soon hosting another event where the 2020 flagship smartphones will be launched. It’s likely that the phone will be launched in the first quarter itself.

As for the release date, the phone should hit the consumer markets later in June or July.

Why is LG not attending MWC 2020

LG has pulled out of the MWC 2020 event citing safety concerns posed by Coronavirus. The company states: ‘With the safety of our employees and general public foremost in mind, LG has decided to withdraw from exhibiting and participating in MWC 2020 later this month in Barcelona, Spain.’

‘This decision will prevent needlessly exposing hundreds of LG employees to international travel, which most health experts have advised.’

The firm also added they will be “holding separate events in the near future’ for launching new devices.

Potential Price of LG V60 ThinQ

The LG V60 ThinQ is expected to cost around $1000 in the United States. Meanwhile, it could set you back somewhere around Rs 55,000 in India.
