Sony is now rolling out a new security update to its 2019 flagship phones.
Sony is rolling out a security patch update for the month of March to its 2019 flagship phones. The update bumps the build number from 55.1.A.3.49 to 55.1.A.3.107 in the case of Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 smartphones.
Besides installing the latest Android security patches, the new update also seems to have fixed the issues related to the fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner has become faster and more accurate after the update, according to several users.
Besides that, it’s not clear what else has improved with this update. And Sony not providing an official changelog isn’t helping either.
Recapping the specifications, both Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 are 2019 flagship phones, powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset and 6GB RAM.
The former has a larger 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display, while the latter features a 6.1-inch FullHD+ HDR OLED display.
Other specs of Xperia 1 include triple rear cameras (12+12+12MP), 8MP selfie camera, 64/128GB storage, and 3330mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the rest of the specs of Xperia 5 include triple cameras (12+12+12MP), 8MP selfie camera, 128GB storage, and 3140mAh battery.
In case you didn’t know, Sony Xperia 1 was one of the devices that had won an iF Design Award in 2020.
Both Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 received the latest Android 10 OS update earlier this month.
