No, you haven’t heard everything yet about the Sony Xperia phones that will debut at the IFA 2017!
According to several sources, Sony will launch their latest Xperia phones a day before the debut of IFA 2017. And, we are talking about a launch that is only a month from now. But, it was only yesterday we received some serious details regarding one of the upcoming Xperia phones – Sony Xperia XZ1. And still, there are two more left in the wild that have not leaked via any channels yet. Yes, you read that right! According to a report that surfaced on a popular tech website, NextPit, Sony will release three new Xperia models: a Xperia X1, a Xperia XZ1 Compact, and last but not least, the highly anticipated Xperia XZ1. We can all agree on the fact that Sony’s smartphones enjoy not as many leaks and rumors as that of its counterparts, Samsung and Apple.
Now there’s something interesting about this report. If you are an avid Xperia fan, chances are you might have heard about the Xperia X1 before. In case you are unfamiliar, the Xperia X1 was launched back in February 2008 with Windows Phone 6.1 on board. The man highlight of the phone was a 3-inch display – yes, 3-inch seemed pretty big those days – and a Qwerty keyboard.
In case you are wondering if Sony is bringing the dead Windows Phone OS back, then you are dead wrong. To be clear, the Japanese tech giant is only re-using the old name on a forthcoming Android phone. However, this one won’t be a flagship device like the Sony Xperia XZ1. Instead, it is tipped to be a mid-tier device, which according to AndroidPit, will feature specs including a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB RAM and 2800 mAh battery.
However, Sony Xperia XZ1 is indeed shaping up to be one of the hottest smartphones of 2017. It’ll probably give the Galaxy S8 a run for its money; thanks to Sony’s decision to ditch the current ugly design for a new all-screen front design.
