We have told you before that Sony is prepping to release three smartphones at IFA 2017. Of the three, the most high-end one – Xperia XZ1 visited benchmarking site GeekBench a week earlier revealing its key features. Speaking of which, it is tipped to come with Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM. And finally, the compact version of this handset – Xperia XZ1 Compact (G8441)- has paid a visit to GeekBench giving us an idea of what we can expect from the upcoming Xperia flagship.
According to the GeekBench listing, the Xperia XZ1 Compact is said to house Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB RAM. Further, it also reveals that the handset will run Android 8.0 ‘O’ out of the box. As expected, the XZ1 Compact features almost the same specs as the bigger Xperia XZ1, but with a smaller display. If rumors are true, the Xperia XZ1 Compact will pack a 4.6-inch HD (720p) display.
Other possible specifications of the device include an 8MP rear facing camera, an 8MP front facing camera, 2800 mAh battery and 32GB of onboard storage. Besides that, the device is said to be backed by a 2800 mAh battery.
In addition to that, rumors suggest that forthcoming Xperia phones will be designed completely anew from the ground up. They are said to come sporting an all-screen front design similar to Galaxy S8 and LG G6. The upcoming Galaxy Note 8 should also come with the same sort of design.
Overall, the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact are shaping up to be two of the hottest releases of this year with great design and top-of-the-line specs. However, it’s worth noting that we have not yet received any leaks showing off the new design of these handsets. But considering the fact that we are less than a month away from the official unveiling, it’s only a matter of days that we should start seeing leaked live images and renders of the devices taking over the internet.
