Forget about the ugly-looking Xperia XZ1, 2018 will mark the first ground-up redesign for the Xperia phones.

If you are a person who felt the recently unveiled Xperia XZ1 (review roundup) is just meh, then I might have a good news for you. The 2018 Xperia flagship – model number Sony H8151 – will reportedly be such a drastic leap forward in terms of design that will make you feel less embarrassed to take an Xperia phone out in public. The bezels will be trimmed intensely so that there is more room for the screen real estate.

A GFXBench test revealing the complete specs of an upcoming Sony Xperia phone.

As per the GFXBench test result, the forthcoming Xperia flagship handset will feature a 5.8-inch screen with a display resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Besides that, other specs listed include Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 17MP rear camera, and 12MP front-facing camera. Also, the 2018 Xperia phone is tipped to run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

The handset will mark Sony’s first Xperia redesign in four years, and Xperia fans are beyond eager to see what their favorite company has in store for next year, after treating them with similar looking phones for four years in a row.
