The purported ‘Ultra Pixel’ leak was a prank pulled off by a YouTuber, unfortunately.
Update: Sorry, but the leaked picture (of the Ultra Pixel) has turned out to be a hoax by YouTuber BRECCIA. Thanks BRECCIA for your little prank, we had our fun!
Original article:
While we thought we knew everything about the upcoming Pixel 2 phones and that Google wouldn’t have any surprises left for the Pixel event scheduled for October 4, a new leak has surfaced online tipping the launch of a third Pixel phone dubbed Ultra Pixel.
The latest leak (courtesy of MrWhoseTheBoss) allegedly shows a leaked slide from Google presentation showcasing an almost bezel-less phone along with a text that reads: “Ultra Pixel. Made by Google.“.
MrWhoseTheBoss says that the forthcoming Ultra Pixel phone might sport dual cameras and a “new kind of fingerprint sensor”. While this could just be another clickbait act by a YouTuber, it’s worth noting that the presentation slide showcased in the picture does look pretty legit.
He also says that the handset will likely ditch Google’s typical navigation buttons in favor of all-new fluid gestures to navigate around the mobile operating system.
Could the Ultra Pixel become the first handset to feature an under-screen fingerprint sensor?
Sure, Vivo is the first to integrate the futuristic-seeming technology in their modified version of Vivo XPlay 6. And, there’s no denying that, but the device they showcased at MWC was just a prototype and it never entered the mass-production scenario.
If the new leak turns true, Google’s Ultra Pixel could become the first commercial handset in the world to feature an under-screen fingerprint reader.
Speaking of the under-display fingerprint technology, Android Central notes, “We don’t have any concrete info to judge just what this means, but there is the chance that this means Google will be implementing a fingerprint scanner that’s embedded under the display of the Ultra Pixel. Technology like this does exist, but we’ve yet to see it in a mass-produced consumer handset. It’s not necessarily impossible for Google to pull off something like this, but the likelihood of it happening is still up in the air.”
If the Ultra Pixel phone does exist and all these rumored specs are legit, then it looks like the Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X will have a surprise new rival in the making.

Hope this is true. Be curious if maybe Google would have it coming out a little later like Apple did with the X.
