Nokia has previously confirmed officially that all their Android-powered phones, launched with Android Nougat on board, will get the update that would bump the software version to Android 9.0, otherwise called the Android P. And now, it appears that we finally have a timeframe as to when the users should be expecting this update.
In an email response to a curious user, Nokia Mobile Care responded that all Nokia devices released thus far are expected to get the Android P software update sometime in August. Though the email doesn’t specifically mention each model and their respective update release date, we expect the newly released models such as Nokia 8.1 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 6.1 to get it first.
In case you didn’t know, Nokia already has an Android P beta program in place for the owners of Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco in China. So, it’s hardly surprising to know that the official update rollout will begin from August.
Some highlights of Android P include gesture-based navigation, adaptive brightness, adaptive battery, improved Google Assistant, Android Dashboard, Wind Down mode, and more.
