AT&T Galaxy S7 Active is receiving a new software update that installs the latest June security patch on the smartphone. 

AT&T is currently rolling out the June security patch update for its Galaxy S7 Active smartphones. The update is aired over-the-air (OTA), so, it may take a while before it hits your device. However, you can tune in for the update manually by visiting Settings – About Phone – Check for updates.

Once you install the update, it will bring your software build version to G891AUCU2BQF2. It is to be noted that the update weighs around 289MB in size. As with every security updates, this one too comes with several bug fixes and performance improvements. According to TheAndroidSoul, the update brings along a bunch of fixes which include Advanced Messaging fix, AT&T Messages Backup and Sync fix, and a fix to the issues surrounding the Wi-Fi calling feature. It has also fixed a bug relating to the Calendar app; and improved video calling experience and Samsung Knox feature.

Nonetheless to say, make sure your phone has at least 50% charge before installing the update. Also, do a backup of important data before you hit the download button.

Galaxy S7 Active is a rugged variant of Galaxy S7, and was launched in June, last year. To recall the specs, the phone features a 5.1-inch display, a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, 12MP/5MP camera combo and a 4000 mAh battery.
