Check out this supercool electric skates that we’ve always wanted in our life.

Heard of Blizwheel? Probably NOT! Well, I hadn’t either until I came across it on Kickstarter sometime recently. And boy, it’s an amazing piece of tech, to be honest.

Blizwheel is a pair of portable electric wheels that, according to the company, is “fun, fast and foldable”. And no, it’s not your good old ordinary skateboard from the 1990s. This one’s fast… really fast, and you can further accelerate it using fingertips (what?).

The Blizwheel Eskates can be controlled by either using a hand-held remote control or a smart glove. The latter indeed sounds pretty futuristic and comes in pretty handy while you are riding the skate. It monitors your hand gestures and alters the speed of the Blizwheel accordingly.

This is the smart glove that I am talking about.

The team behind this futuristic electric wheel project claims that it could go as fast as 24km/h on good road conditions. Further, the product is “walking friendly” thanks for ditching the traditional design of two wheels married together through a bulky plank in favor of two split wheels.

The best feature of the Blizwheel, however, is its ultra portability. The frame can be folded downwards into the wheel and you can pack it into a petite bag for easy portability.

Another highlight of the device is the addition of LED lights on the rear so as to make commuting at night safer and cooler.

The ultracool electric skates can be purchased in three variants, namely Blizwheel Lite, Blizwheel Urban and Blizwheel Pro. These variants differ in terms of battery capacity and several other features; you can learn more about them from the picture below.

Here is how the pricing goes:

    • Lite – $299 on Kickstarter (Retail price – $499)
    • Urban – $399 on Kickstarter (Retail price – $699)
    • Pro – $569 on Kickstarter (Retail price – $999)

Abhin’s love for all things tech started when he got his first smartphone, Galaxy S (the first), in 2010. Since then, he has been crazy about technology and tried out all major Android flagships from Samsung, and HTC. He currently uses a Google Pixel 4a as his daily driver.
