Embrace all Tesla users, a big update is on the way!
Tesla’s use of cutting-edge software has hands-down been its USP that sets its vehicles apart from others in the market. CEO Elon Musk has used this key selling point to advantage by regularly rolling out software upgrades with newer features for different segments of users. Musk recently took to Twitter to announce another such upgrade aimed at bringing ‘big changes’ to the Tesla software.
To put this newest offering from the auto giant in perspective, it is essential to look back at its journey of software upgrades over the years. One of the most revolutionary of these was the introduction of over-the-air software updates for its Model S. Another prime example would be the 2015 software update rolled out by the company, giving its consumers instant access to the new Autopilot feature overnight.
Traditionally, these upgrades have been the only way for existing Tesla owners to access new features being developed by the company and enjoy enhanced performance of its vehicles. These new software updates allow the company to augment the driving experience for its existing users.
Taking its practice of software upgrades forward, Tesla recently hinted at some interesting plans up its sleeve for augmenting driving experience to the next level. Being the Twitter savvy CEO that he is, Musk took to the microblogging site last weekend to outline a string of new features that will be made available soon through upcoming software updates. Of these, the most noteworthy is the option to create a cloud-based profile for a tailor-made driving experience. A person driving any Tesla model can create this driver profile, which will be used to keep tabs on their preferences for mirrors, seats and steering wheel positioning. This means your Tesla vehicles will now be capable of automatically customizing the car’s settings, as per your preferences. No more having to manually push the seats back and forth, adjusting the rear view mirrors before rolling the car out of your driveway every morning. The feature would be especially useful for large families, where different people drive the same car.
We are going to move all info and settings to the "cloud" (aka server) so any Tesla you drive in the world automatically adjusts to you

In his Tweet on the upcoming update, Elon Musk wrote, “We are going to move all info and settings to the “cloud” (aka server) so any Tesla you drive in the world automatically adjusts to you.”
He went on to add that the feature, once implemented, will allow Tesla vehicles to “automatically adjust to the user config of whoever is closest to a given door when the handle is touched.” Another interesting upcoming feature is the ability to auto-close sunroofs once rainfall is detected.
