Samsung has made it official that the Galaxy Note 8 will launch on August 23, at a press event in New York.
The Korean tech giant, on Thursday, announced that they are hosting a press event in New York on August 23. Although Samsung didn’t tell about what we can expect at the event, it did mention a tagline “Do Bigger Things” on the media invite, which should indicate the launch of Galaxy Note 8. Also, we’re pretty sure about that!
Besides, the invite also showcases the outline of a phone – presumably the Note 8 – that looks similar to the Galaxy S8. It confirms that the Galaxy Note 8 will feature an infinity display, curved along the longer sides and with very thin bezels at the top and bottom. And yes, we are talking about a display similar to the Galaxy S8 Plus, but with a larger size. As per rumors, the Note 8 will feature a 6.3-inch display compared to 6.2-inch on the Galaxy S8 Plus.
Today, we also got a few renders showing off the Galaxy Note 8 design. And it’s worth saying that these renders give us our best look at the phablet so far. Also, they seem to confirm some of the rumors surrounding the handset we’ve been hearing for months now.
Based on the renders released by BGR, the Galaxy Note 8 will come with a dual camera setup in the back, with horizontally aligned sensors and dual tone LED flash. The sensors are rumored to be 13MP each, with one of them being a telephoto sensor, while the other should be an RGB sensor. Also, there are rumors citing that its’ camera would be far better than the iPhone 7 Plus, LG G6 and Samsung’s own Galaxy S8/S8+.
So, what do we know about the hardware specifications of the Note 8? The handset will probably house Snapdragon 836 chipset under the hood. Other rumored features include 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of onboard storage, an iris scanner, and Bixby integration. And like every other Note phablets, the Galaxy Note 8 will also come with an S-Pen on board.
