A new leak on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 Active reveals all its key specifications.

Is it too early to know about the upcoming Galaxy S8 Active specs? Well, we think not and so does the leakers. A new leak has surfaced on Weibo (via Slashleaks) that reveals all we need to know about the forthcoming Galaxy S8 Active handset. And according to the latest leak, it looks like Samsung is indeed working on a variant that is better than the original Galaxy S8.

About a week ago, we were the first to report on the leaked pictures of Galaxy S8 Active. And then as if that wasn’t enough, we have just received yet another huge leak regarding Galaxy S8 Active specs. Speaking of which, the rugged variant of the Galaxy S8 will come with a 5.8-inch (2960 x 1440p) Super AMOLED display, which is backed by Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Similar to Galaxy S8, the S8 Active will feature an Infinity edge display, but this one won’t have curved edges. And finally, Samsung has a solution for the questionable durability of all screen front design. The leak hints that Galaxy S8 will be using a Shatter resistant display that wouldn’t crack during accidental drops.

Further, the device will come with IP68 water and dust resistance and military-grade body, which needless to say, are features expected of an Active variant by default. However, the main highlight of the Galaxy S8 Active is its massive 4000 mAh battery. To compare, the Galaxy S8 features only a 3000 mAh battery. Nonetheless, here’s a hoping it won’t explode like the Galaxy Note 8 due to the accommodation of a huge battery on a relatively smaller device.

Besides that, the leak also reveals the chipset inside the S8 Active to be Snapdragon 835. Also, it will come loaded with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 12MP, f/1.7 rear camera and an 8MP, f/1.7 front camera. Apart from that, the handset will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. However, unlike the Galaxy S8 that is available in 5 color variants, the Active variant will be available only in two colors: Meteor Gray, and Titanium Gold.
