HTC 10 devices are now receiving the July security patch update

HTC is now rolling out the security patch updates for the month of July to their unlocked HTC 10 smartphones. Since the update is seeding over the air, it may take a while before reaching your device. Also to mention, the update is currently available only for the US handsets.

Like every security patch updates, this one too will bring several bug fixes and improve the performance of the device. The latest update that comes with build version 2.51.617.1 is over 600MB in size, so we recommend downloading it over the WiFi to save some bucks over data charges.

Also, you can check for the updates manually on your device by visiting Settings -> About Device -> Software Updates. Needless to say, make sure to backup your important data before installing the update, for obvious reasons. Also worth noting is that there should be at least 50-60 percent charge on your phone before downloading the update.

Launched back in Apri last year, HTC 10 is still a pretty solid phone when it comes to design and performance. It features a 5.2 inch 1440 x 2560p display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and 3000 mAh battery.

So, have you received the update yet? If yes, do let us know in the comment how the device has improved after installing the update.

Thanks Joey Luu for the tip!

Abhin’s love for all things tech started when he got his first smartphone, Galaxy S (the first), in 2010. Since then, he has been crazy about technology and tried out all major Android flagships from Samsung, and HTC. He currently uses a Google Pixel 4a as his daily driver.
