The new iMobile app update has reportedly fixed the error that caused the app to open up automatically.
ICICI has started rolling out a new update for its mobile banking app iMobile, thus fixing an issue that has been annoying its users for a while now. A bug had been causing the ICICI banking app to open up automatically while a user is using some other application.
The changelog of the new iMobile update includes:
- You can now donate for social causes using our newly introduced Donation tab available under the Shop section.
- Experience our enhanced Travel insurance section with 3 click payments.
- Bug fixes and Enhancements.
So, if you were one of the users that had been facing the ‘app automatically opening’ issue, we suggest you head over to Play Store and install the new update as soon as possible. Although we’ve revealed a temporary fix for the issue, it is always recommended to keep your mobile apps up to date to avoid security troubles of all sorts.
The update carries the version number 10.5 and is more than 52MB in size. For the new version to be working properly, you may need to allow the app to use Calendar, Camera, Contacts, Location, Microphone, Telephone, and SMS. It’s worth noting that you can always disable access to these permissions in Settings.
For the uninitiated, the iMobile app by ICICI comes with the following features:
- Pay and collect money from anyone instantly using Unified Payment Interface (UPI)
- View and transact from all your accounts including Loans, PPF, iWish, Insurance, Cards, and Deposits
- Check your bank balance, view & email detailed statement and view passbook on your mobile

- Open FD – Open FDs, RDs or iWish deposits
- Get personalized offers on your mobile
- Access and manage Life Insurance policies

- You can locate an ATM, stop or check the status of your cheque, order a checkbook, track your service requests and more.
