Life tip: Never bite an iPhone battery. NEVER!
This is a video of an iPhone battery catching into flames after a man bites it for some reason. Though the exact reason why the guy bit the battery is unknown, Apple Insider notes that people often try this trick to check the authenticity of the product. Seriously, I don’t know if that works. But if it’s a thing, then I may have learned something new today. Thanks, internet!
The video has already been watched more than 5 million times on Chinese video sharing site Miaopai and has made its way to other websites as well, including Facebook and YouTube. I mean, what doesn’t go viral on social media sites these days. And if it’s a video of someone eating some dangerous laundry detergent or chewing batteries, then you bet it’ll make to the top YouTube charts.
The incident took place at some local store in China on January 19th. And as per reports, nobody was hurt at the scene. However, I have a strong feeling this is going to give rise to a shitload of memes and challenges and bid adieu to the good ol‘ Tide Pod Challenges.
On a serious note, I would like to warn the readers that it may not be a good idea to chew an iPhone battery, or any battery for that matter, even if it’s for verifying its authenticity. Maybe, it would be a better idea not to purchase batteries and other internal accessories from no-name stores to avoid being a victim of counterfeiting.
