Lenovo launched their mid-range notch totting smartphone at the beginning of this month. It goes by the name Lenovo Z5 which somehow managed to gain positive response even though the whole hype was a facade. The main reason for this positive reception is the decent specs in an affordable price tag.

The Chinese smartphone maker originally launched the smartphone in two color variants – Schumann Black, and Aurora, although only the Black colored variant has been made available in the market thus far. Interestingly, the brand today announced the availability details of a brand new color variant, the Indigo Blue model. You can buy the new color variant starting from today (28 June) at 10 PM in China.

    Lenovo Z5 specifications and pricing

The smartphone comes with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. For all the notch haters out there, you might get an option in the software to disable the notch. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For power users, there is a higher storage variant which comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

It is worth noting that only the variant with 64GB will go for sale in Indigo Blue as of now. Coming to the optics now, Lenovo Z5 sports a dual rear camera setup having a 16MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor for depth sensing. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera at the front. All of this runs on 3,330 mAh battery and a ZUI 4.0 on top of Android 8.0.

Now, coming to the pricing, the smaller i.e 6GB/64GB variant is retailing at 1,299 Yuan (approx. $202). The higher variant with 6GB/128GB storage is priced at CNY1,799 (approx $280). The Indigo Blue version costs 100 Yuan more as compared to Schwann Black making it available for 1,399 Yuan which is approximately $215.

In case you didn’t know, the Lenovo Z5 was originally marketed as a completely bezel-free smartphone, but in reality, the device was nothing but yet another Android clone of the iPhone X. Though reasonably small, the device does have side bezels along the edges of the display coupled with a notch at the top to accommodate various sensors and front-facing camera.
