Lenovo’s recently launched Lenovo Z5 runs out of stock on China-based e-tailer JD in a few minutes. The device costs 1299 Yuan, which translates to $203.

Chinese online retailer store JD.com started selling the Lenovo Z5 from today, 10 O’clock in the morning. The 64GB storage, 6GB RAM variant of the handset was on sale today morning for a price of 1299 Yuan (approx $203).

Unsurprisingly, the handset went out of stock on JD after a few minutes of the sale kicking off (Source: GizmoChina). It seems like the extensive ‘fake’ campaign the Chinese firm put forward before the official launch has paid off, after all.

For the uninitiated, the Lenovo Z5 was marketed as a completely bezel-less phone prior to the official unveiling. However, the smartphone looks quite different from the pre-marketing materials, featuring iPhone X-style notch at top of the display. There are noticeable bezels on the bottom as well.

According to reports, the device went out of stock within just 4-5 minutes after it was made available on JD.com. However, there are no reports revealing the number of Lenovo Z5 units that was put on the first sale.

Sure, the new phone from Lenovo looks pretty premium in terms of design. But, it’s worth noting that the device is made for the budget-conscious consumers and comes with mid-range specs out of the box.

As for the specs, the Z5 features a large 6.2-inch screen with a display resolution of 1080×2246 pixels and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, the same CPU that is expected to power the incoming Motorola One Power.

Besides that, other specs include 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, dual cameras on the rear with a 16MP and an 8MP sensors, 8MP front-facing camera, and a 3300mAh battery to keep the juice flowing through the device.

We’ll let you know as soon as the device comes back in stock.
