If you were planning to buy a smart speaker anytime soon, you may want to hold off your plans.

LG is finally getting into the business of smart speakers with the debut of ThinQ speakers. Although the speakers won’t launch until CES 2018, the features of the device have been revealed by the Korean company.

As you’d expect, it is, of course, Bluetooth-powered, and it’ll run Google Assistant out of the box. The Google Assistant feature works pretty much like the one on your smartphone, and so, you’ll be able to able to ask for weather information, add events to the calendar, play music, manage alarms, and more.

Besides that, the ThinQ speakers can also control smart home devices provided they are manufactured by LG. That’s definitely a neat feature to have if you ask me!

The best part about ThinQ smart speakers though is that it will be powered by a high-end audio system, which is something quite expected from a smart speaker these days. The audio system is designed by Meridian Audio, which is a pioneer of high-performance, high-fidelity audio.

LG also highlights that their new smart speaker offering will be able to stream high-quality lossless files. LG will officially take wraps off the ThinQ smart speakers at the CES 2018, which is scheduled for January 9th.
