New leaked live photos of Huawei Mate 10 shows a design better than the Galaxy Note 8.
Galaxy S8 may arguably be the most gorgeous-looking phone in the market right now, but that will likely change as soon as Huawei take wraps off its 2017 flagship, Mate 10. Well, a new leak allegedly showing off the forthcoming device has leaked online. And if the leak is to be believed, the Huawei Mate 10 will look like an improved version of the recently unveiled Galaxy Note 8 — more bezel-free.
Huawei seems to be upping the ante in the smartphone market, which is clear from the fact that they are now the world’s second-largest smartphone maker, pushing Apple to the third place. So, it’s obvious that their upcoming Mate 10 smartphone will be a great competitor to other popular flagships of the likes of Galaxy Note 8 and V30.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Mate 10 will feature a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with a display resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. Besides that, the device will house the firm’s latest in-house chipset Kirin 970. Speaking of, the chip will be as powerful as the Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 835, if not better.
The Kirin 970 chipset was unveiled recently at the IFA tech conference and is said to come with built-in AI capabilities. It features an 8-core processor with a 12-core GPU made by TSMC using the same 10nm process as used by Qualcomm for their flagship chips.
“As we look to the future of smartphones, we’re at the threshold of an exciting new era. Mobile AI = On-Device AI + Cloud AI. HUAWEI is committed to developing smart devices into intelligent devices by building end-to-end capabilities that support coordinated development of chips, devices, and the cloud. The ultimate goal is to provide a significantly better user experience. The Kirin 970 is the first in a series of new advances that will bring powerful AI features to our devices and take them beyond the competition.”, Huawei CEO Richard Yu said.
Other than that, the Mate 10 is rumored to pack 6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, 4000 mAH battery and a dual camera (20MP+12MP) setup. A ‘Pro’ variant, with 8GB RAM, is also rumored to debut alongside the Mate 10 smartphone.
Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro devices will be unveiled in Munich on October 16.
