Movie buffs pay attention! A whole new string of engaging, gripping Hollywood trailers has been unveiled and currently doing the rounds on the internet. Going by the looks of these trailers seems like there is a gold mine of cinematic indulgences awaiting you later this year. For now, it is time for yet another session of mini-movie screening marathon. Here are the ones you must check out to freshen up yourselves this week:
Hollywood trailers: American Assassin
This is an action thriller based on Vince Flynn’s book by the same title. The movie, directed by Michael Cuesta, revolves around the life of 23-year-old Mitch Rapp (played by Dylan O’Brien) who loses his parents to a car crash at the age of 14, and later, his fiancé to a terror attack just days after their engagement. These occurrences lead him to enlist with the CIA as black ops recruit. What unravels is a gripping tale of undercover ops and investigations on attacks on civilian and military targets. A pattern begins to emerge, and Rapp, along with Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (played by Michael Keaton) race against time to stop an imminent war. American Assassin releases September 15.
Hollywood trailers: Boo2! A Madea Halloween
Considering that Boo2! A Madea Halloween is listed as a comedy horror film (seriously, why is it even a genre? Be scary or be funny. Just pick a side!), you’d expect it to be that typical horror film that has its moments of comic relief thrown in the mix to allow the audiences a chance to catch their breaths. Those familiar with the Madea series would know that Boo2! A Madea Halloween is not that. It is, in fact, a comedy that pokes fun at the stereotypes fanned by the seriously scary movies out there, and in doing so, brings its viewers umpteen moments of hilarity. This is the 10th film in the Madea series and a sequel to the 2016 Boo! A Madea Halloween. The film hits theatres on October 20, but you can treat yourself to a mini laugh riot with this new movie trailer.
Hollywood trailers: Gemini

Starring Lola Kirke and Zoë Kravitz, Gemini is a mystery thriller that recounts a dark crime story revolving around the movie industry. The details of the plot have been kept largely under wraps, which is surprising given that the film has already premiered at South by Southwest on March 12 this year. It is slated for a 2017 release. Neon has even acquired the distribution rights for the film but there is no word on the exact release date yet. Gemini received an overwhelming response and critical acclaim following its SXSW premiere. While you wait for an official announcement of Gemini’s release, this new trailer is worth checking out.
Hollywood trailers: Molly’s Game
Molly’s Game is based on a true story, inspired by the life of Molly Bloom, a young, beautiful, skilled skier who successfully ran an exclusive high-stakes poker game for over a decade until her jaunt was abruptly cut short with a midnight arrest carried out by 17 automatic weapon-wielding FBI agents. Bloom’s clientele included the who’s who of Hollywood, business tycoons and sports stars, and the Russian mob. The film traces the journey of 26-year-old Bloom after she becomes a target of an FBI investigation. With Molly’s Game, celebrated scriptwriter Aaron Sorkin is donning the director’s hat for the first time. Starring Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba, Molly’s Game promise to be fast-paced film, high on drama. At least, that’s what this new movie trailer seems to suggest.
Hollywood trailers: The Florida Project
After his 2015 outing, Tangerine, director Sean Baker is back with The Florida Project, a film that from the first look of it seems to pack a punch with the tried and tested formula of a narrative that is emotional, sweet, dark and funny, all at the same time. Set in summer, the film traces the journey of a precocious 6-year-old, Moonee, as she continues to seek adventure and court mischief with playmates while living at a Motel managed by Bobby, a man with a compassionate heart encapsulated by a stern exterior. Even as Moonee continues to indulge with her ragtag playmates, the storyline also touches upon the unusual bond she shares with her defiant but caring mother. All in all, The Florida Project looks like a story that tugs at the heartstrings. The film is slated to release on October 5, but a trailer is out in the fray.
Hollywood trailers: Rememory
Sci-fi fans rejoice, Peter Dinklage fans rejoice, and those who love them both, do your happy dance now because Rememory looks like a film that’s worth your enthusiasm. A pioneering scientist, who is working on creating technology that can help in extracting human memories and allowing them to be played on a device, is killed under mysterious circumstances. Sam Bloom, a detective, decides to use the scientist’s memory machine to unravel the mystery of its maker’s death. What follows is an intriguing web of trickery and deceit. The sci-fi twist on a traditional detective story makes Rememory seem like a fun outing. At least, that’s what this new movie trailer seems to suggest so. The film will be available on Google Play on August 24th and hits theaters on September 8.
Hollywood trailers: Thor: Ragnarok
After Thor and Thor: The Dark World comes yet another movie inspired by the Marvel Comics superhero character. Carrying forward from the events of Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron, superhero Thor is taken a hostage and kept in captivity on the planet Sakaar, albeit without his powerhouse hammer Mjolnir. He is then pitted in a gladiator-style duel against his friend (wait for it…), the Hulk, to be able to come back to Asgard and stop the evil Hela from bringing on the impending Ragnarök – the doom of the entire Asgardian civilization. The film also sees cameos from a lot of other Marvel heroes, which is definitely an added delight for superhero fans. The movie releases on November 3.
