After launching a bunch of cheap handsets earlier this year, Nokia is prepping to launch at least two new Android smartphones anytime soon. Speaking of which, HMD Global has already sent out media invites for a press event scheduled for August 16th. Although the company did not mention what specifically they would launch at the event, we are pretty sure it should be the Nokia 8 and Nokia 2; thanks to the endless leaks & rumors that never fails to impress us.

Around a few week ago, we exclusively showed you, our readers, a hand-made sketch of the Nokia 2. Now, as if that wasn’t enough, we now have a picture showcasing one of the prototypes of the handset.

We know what exactly you’re thinking! Yes, the device indeed looks ugly with huge bezels on the top of the display. But, not to forget, this is just a prototype of the forthcoming Nokia 2 and the final device may look nothing like this ugly piece.

Also, there is no fingerprint sensor on the front or the rear side of the device. However, if you’re wondering if it is going to be integrated into the display, then you’re dead wrong! Unlike Nokia 8, the Nokia 2 is a cheap Android phone, which should compete against the likes of Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6X. So, there is that!

Further, the latest leak also confirms the previous rumors surrounding the hardware specs of the device. And that is, the device will house Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor under a big display (somewhere between 4.7-inch and 5-inch).

Sure, the phone may not pack a gorgeous all-screen front design, nor it may come with any high-end specs to boast around, but the alleged pricing on the smartphone is sure to impress you. If rumors are true, the device will sell for around $100 when it finally goes on sale towards the end of August. We promise to cover the entire details of the forthcoming Nokia 2 when it finally goes official on August 16th, so make sure to visit this space more often so you don’t miss any important updates regarding the device.
