Oreo update may hit the OnePlus 5 devices at any moment now. The handset has been spotted on GeekBench running the latest Android version.

Do you happen to be a OnePlus 5 user waiting eagerly for the Android 8.0 Oreo update? If yes, we have a VERY good news for you! The new Android OS update may hit your device anytime soon from now.

It looks like the Chinese company wants to clear off its bad reputation on ill-timed updates by rolling out the latest Android builds right before any other manufacturer does. Earlier this month, we reported that the company’s yesteryear device – OnePlus 3 – was found running the Android 8.0 in closed-beta. And now, the Chinese firm’s latest flagship device, OnePlus 5, has been spotted on GeekBench running the latest Android OS. This should mean that the company is in the final stages of testing the new update before its imminent release to the end users.

It’s unclear at this point in time when OnePlus will roll out the update to this year’s flagship device. However, it’s likely that the update will arrive sometime in October as soon as the company is done testing it.

Abhin’s love for all things tech started when he got his first smartphone, Galaxy S (the first), in 2010. Since then, he has been crazy about technology and tried out all major Android flagships from Samsung, and HTC. He currently uses a Google Pixel 4a as his daily driver.
