Rumors and leaks are in full force to reveal everything there is to know about the forthcoming OnePlus 5T. So, we thought to cover just about everything we know so far about the handset in a single article.
If there’s a company whose upcoming devices enjoy as much as a quarter the attention of Samsung’s or Apple’s forthcoming products, it should be OnePlus. The company has struck gold in just a few years after its debut into the smartphone market. Needless to say, the company has managed to attract a good deal of fans in just four years of being in the industry.
The firm’s recent flagship – OnePlus 5 – has managed to attract a whole lot of customers than expected. In fact, the phone has generally received positive reviews from the critics across the globe. As if that wasn’t enough, OnePlus 5 even managed to become the highest revenue-grossing phone on Amazon India.
Fast forward to today, you can’t get a OnePlus 5 anywhere in the world. Speaking of, the handset has gone out of stock across several markets across the globe. And, this was apparently the first incident that sparked the OnePlus 5T rumor. And now, we have multiple alleged OnePlus 5T renders and a questionable media invite to support the theory.
Recently leaked renders show a gorgeous all-screen phone with very slim bezels running along the top and bottom. Even though the handset in question shares a striking resemblance to the Galaxy S8, it’s the best OnePlus phone we’ve seen so far.
Heck, what about the OnePlus 5 users who purchased the device about a few months ago? And yes, that includes me too! Regardless, I’ve been loving the device since the day I purchased it. Be it the battery life or the performance side, the handset has always been a win. However, two things I think OnePlus should have integrated onto the device is an IP water and dust certification and a better design.
The design of OnePlus 5 looks dated. The display has huge bezels hanging around along every possible side. But then again, that’s just me!
My opinions apart, let’s get back to the subject now! This article will tell you everything you need to know about the upcoming OnePlus phone – OnePlus 5T. We were the first to break the report that OnePlus might skip the 5T in favor of OnePlus 6. But, that report seems defunct now as GizmoChina has come up with a few renders allegedly showcasing the 5T.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, the front side of the device indeed looks just like the Galaxy S8. If you take a closer look, you’ll find no bezels along the longer sides, while the top and bottom bezels have been kept minimal. Despite the striking resemblance to the Galaxy S8 and assuming this is true, one could say, without a speck of doubt, that this should be the best-looking smartphone engineered by OnePlus.
Now, take a look at the rear:
As you can see in the picture above, there aren’t any noticeable changes when it comes to the rear side. In fact, the rear side of the OnePlus 5T looks just like that of the OnePlus 5. And, that’s okay considering there are only so much design changes a company can make on a side that no one actually cares. The only difference you’ll notice is the new fingerprint reader location. OnePlus is supposedly moving the fingerprint reader on 5T to the rear so as to increase the screen real estate up front.
Apart from the obvious design changes, OnePlus 5T is rumored to retain the same hardware specs as its predecessor. And that means it will come powered with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, dual (16+20MP) rear camera setup, single 16MP front-facing camera, and 3300 mAh battery. It’ll come in two storage variants as the OnePlus 5 with the high-end variant sporting 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the other variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Assuming everything goes right for the Chinese company, we should probably see the OnePlus 5T smartphone launch sometime in November this year.
OnePlus 5T listed on OppoMart?
Yes, OppoMart is apparently taking pre-orders for the yet-to-launch OnePlus 5T. The e-tailer has listed the device on Tuesday for a price of $549. According to OppoMart, the new device from OnePlus will feature a 6-inch QuadHD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. As for the other specs, it’s just the same as we stated above in this article.
So, what do you think about the forthcoming OnePlus 5T handset? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
