A few alleged renders of the much-anticipated OnePlus 5T have made it to the Internet today. But, make no mistake: they are super fake.
We all know the fact that OnePlus is notorious for copying smartphone designs from other popular manufacturers. In fact, the firm’s latest flagship, i.e OnePlus 5, is a carbon copy of the Oppo R11, which again is a rip-off of the iPhone 7 Plus. And today, a leak allegedly claiming to be the OnePlus 5T render took the Internet by storm. Many technology blogs have cross-posted the alleged OnePlus 5T render claiming that this could indeed be what OnePlus has in store for us later this year. Sure, the device in the picture looks gorgeous with all-screen design, fewer bezels, and edge-to-edge display. However, I can’t help but feel sorry for those who believe this “leaked” picture to be legit. It’s super fake!
This picture was first posted by GizmoChina earlier today. They claim to have received the leak from a “reliable source” that has a great track record when it comes to smartphone leaks. Oh wait, then what about this Oppo F5 render that made it to the internet a few days ago:
Looks familiar? Well, it’s the same picture except that the former is a lower-resolution picture of the latter. Speaking of, both the picture displays just the same phone with the same wallpaper. If I was the “leaker”, I would have at least changed the wallpaper on the phone. Long story short, the new OnePlus 5T leaked render is just as fake as your imaginary friend.
Earlier this week, we reported that the Chinese firm has allegedly ditched the OnePlus 5T in favor of the OnePlus 6, which is tipped to launch early next year. However, we suggest you take these rumors with the proverbial pinch of salt.
