A new tip may have confirmed the launch date of OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8. The tipster also reveals that the phones may come in a new color – green.

We’ve been hearing rumors about OnePlus 8 flagship series ever since the company launched its 2019 flagship series, OnePlus 7T. The upcoming upgrade is exciting as it will come with radical new upgrades, unlike its mid-year renewals. And a few leaked renders have helped give us a picture of what to expect from these upcoming affordable flagship handsets. However, up until today, there has never been any rumors or leaks regarding the potential launch date of new OnePlus devices. Although there have been a few speculations surrounding an early-March launch, a new tip suggests that might not be the case.

Reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal took it to Twitter to share his new findings regarding the potential launch date of OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 smartphones. He also suspects that there might be a third variant in the form of OnePlus 8 Lite. Anyway, according to him, the handsets could go official sometime in late March or early April.

As well as the information on the launch date and a potential new color variant, Ishan also shared a GIF image that keeps on flashing the number ‘8’ in different colors — which could likely signify the different color variants of the said phones. Since OnePlus is notorious for copying whatever Apple does, we think the green shade of the upcoming OnePlus handsets might look somewhat like the Midnight Green color variant of the iPhone 11 Pro.

When it comes to hardware specs, we expect both OnePlus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro to be powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset with support for 5G networks. The standard variant should have at least 8GB RAM, while the OnePlus 8 Pro could have up to 12 gigs of RAM.

The OnePlus 8 is said to be backed by a 4000mAh battery with support for 30W Warp Charge, while the Pro variant could sport a 4500mAh battery with 50W Warp Charge. Unlike previous lineups, the OnePlus 8 Pro could even come with wireless charging capabilities.
