Android 7.1.2 update for Optus Nexus 6P: Popular Australian telecom company Optus will roll out the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update to their Nexus 6P devices by the end of July.

It’s been a while since we heard about the Nexus 6P that was launched in September two years ago. However, it looks like a few operators still support the device, making sure to roll out the latest Android updates for the handset at the right time. The latest to do so is Australian-based telecom company Optus.

On their official website, Optus has updated that their Nexus 6P devices will be receiving the latest Android v7.1.2 (Nougat) update possibly by the end of July. The operator also mentioned that the update will include the latest Google security patches. That means along with fingerprint swipe features, it will also come with several bug fixes and performance improvements. Other Android 7.1.2 features include a new battery usage alerts, along with some improvements in general connectivity and enhanced notification stability. Also, the update will be delivered over-the-air (OTA) and you should receive a notification when it hits your device.

Recalling its specs, the Huawei Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch screen with a display resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 3,450 mAh battery. For imaging, there is a 12.3MP camera in the back, while the selfies are handled by an 8MP snapper in the front. Apart from that, the handset is available in three storage variants — 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB — and users can choose from three color variants — Aluminium, Graphite, and Frost.
