If you thought, with Apple revealing iPhone X, everything is wrapped up for this year then you’re clearly wrong. Google is yet to reveal what they have in store for us this year. It’s time to turn our attention to the next-gen Google Pixel devices.

Last year, Google introduced their first ever premium smartphone called Pixel. The “made by Google” device was able to directly compete with all the flagship smartphone at once. Google is now all set to reveal the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 and has just debuted a marketing campaign for the same.

On October 4th, 2016, Google first revealed the Pixel and Pixel XL to the consumers and marked its entry as a smartphone maker. Exactly a year later, Google will introduce the fresh new lineup of the Pixel devices.

Google wants you to be excited about the Pixel 2 launch

Google has already started several marketing campaigns on the internet tipping their October 4th Pixel 2 launch event. If you open the Google search homepage, you will find a text which reads “Ask more of your phone. Oct. 4“. On clicking the link, you will see a new landing page which carries the tagline “Thinking about changing the phone” and then teases for the October 4th launch event.

Apart from this, Google yesterday uploaded a new teaser video on their official youtube channel titled “Funny You Should Ask“. This brand new teaser video puts up some of the common rhetorical questions related to a smartphone.

With this teaser video, Google is indicating that their new smartphone will not be affected by any of the common problems faced by a consumer. This includes poor battery life, blurry photos, inability to auto-update, bad performance and more.

On top of that, the Mountain View company has started putting billboards teasing the Pixel launch event. Well, all these marketing campaigns clearly indicate that the search giant wants you to be as excited as they are right now for their new releases.

What can we expect from Google Pixel 2?

While Google hasn’t really told us anything about the launch event yet, our best bet is they would launch the much-anticipated Pixel handsets. Needless to say, expectations are all sky high for the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. Also, there is not much that we don’t know about the incoming phones thanks to the leaks and rumors which have been making rounds for months now.

Earlier confirmed in an FCC listing, the Pixel XL 2 will be made by LG and will feature a 6-inch FullVision QHD display like the one found in LG V30. On the other hand, the Pixel 2 is almost confirmed to be built by HTC and should feature a smaller 4.97-inch FHD display with huge bezels. The smaller variant might arrive with ‘squeezable sides’ just like in HTC U11 which will activate Google Assistant if pressed.

Both the variants will house Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC processor, the chipset maker’s latest and best offering yet. Earlier, Google accidentally revealed that the new Pixel devices will feature front-facing speakers.

Apart from the Pixel devices, Google is also expected to bring some new products to their portfolio. Google is tipped to launch AirPods-like earphones which will be powered by Google Assistant. The firm is also expected to introduce a new variant of Google Home and a fresh new lineup of Chrome Pixel laptops.
