This is how much the upcoming Xperia 1 V will cost in China.

The new Sony Xperia 1 V smartphone launch is still a few hours away, but thanks to a new report, we already know how much the new Sony handsets will cost.

According to ZACKBUCKS, the Xperia 1 V handset will be priced at 8,000 yuan… which roughly converts to $1155, £916, or ₹94,800.

To compare, that’s a $445 drop compared to the $1600 launch price of 2022’s Xperia I IV.

It’s not clear as of now whether this price drop will be reflected in other markets, but we should be hearing about this pretty soon.

Sony in a teaser video has revealed that it will be unveiling their 2023 flagship Xperia phones today ie. May 11 at 1PM Japan time.

Expected specs of Sony Xperia 1 V include 6.5-inch OLED 4K display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 16 gigs of RAM, and 5000mAh battery.

As is obvious from the teasers — camera and imaging will be the USPs of the new Xperias (as always), but Sony fans are also keeping their fingers crossed on a possible design change. Xperia 1 models have stuck to the same design for four straight years.

We will be adding more information about the phone after the official launch, so stay tuned!
