Report: Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 Will Be Powered by Snapdragon 836

A new report suggests that the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 836 chipset.

It’s been a while since we heard rumors around the upcoming Google Pixel devices, Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. The last we heard about the devices was about a beautiful design that the device could likely feature. But, since they are rumors, chances of them becoming a reality is not a safe bet.

However, that’s not the case about the information we received today from Fudzilla. The report says that the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 would launch with the yet-to-launch Snapdragon 836 chipset on board. And, we couldn’t be more happier!

It was rumored that the Galaxy Note 8 would be the first device to feature the Snapdragon 836 chipset. But, a few contradicting reports have surfaced lately, suggesting that the device could instead pack the current Qualcomm flagship chipset, i.e., Snapdragon 835.

If that report is to be believed, we might see the upcoming chipset being featured in the Pixel devices first. Whatever the case may be, Qualcomm will likely launch the SD 836 chipset towards the end of July or early August. Yes, that’s gonna happen anytime soon!

Talking about the forthcoming chipset, it will be slightly better than the current SD 835, with an improved clock speed for both GPU and CPU. Besides that, it will also come with better battery efficiency compared to the current flagship chipset. There are reports claiming that the Snapdragon 836 could be clocked at 2.5GHz which is a slight increase over the 2.45GHz of Snapdragon 835.

Google launched the Pixel and Pixel XL devices in October last year, so it’s safe to assume that the tech giant might probably unveil the next generation Pixel devices in around the same month this year. Both the devices are said to feature an all-screen front design with narrow bezels, similar to Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
