Two New SSD’s Added to The Family

Samsung have recently added two brand new SSD’s into their ever-growing family. So, expect to see the Samsung 860 PRO and EVO coming to an electronics store near you. The two new Samsung SSD’s are expected to be released at some point this month or early in February.

    860 PRO

Out of the two new models, the 860 PRO is the higher-end version. The read and write speeds sit nicely and can reach up to 560MB/s and 530MB/s. However, expect random read and write speeds of around 100K IOPS and 90K IOPS.

Regarding the capacity of the 860 PRO, you will be able to grab as little as 256GB ranging all the way up to 4TB.

The 860 PRO will come with a five-year warranty or 4,800TB written.

    860 EVO

The 860 EVO may be classed as the lower-end version of the 860 SSDs. However, it doesn’t fall far behind the 860 PRO. The read and write speeds are up to 550MB/s and 520MB/s with a max of 98K IOPS and 90K IOPS max.

Compared to the 860 PRO, the EVO comes in three different forms. The first is the 2.5-inch model with 250GB up to 4TB in storage. The second is a mSATA which will allow up to 2TB and the final is M.2 with a max capacity of 1TB.

The 860 EVO is also backed with a five-year warranty however it is only good up to 2,400TB.

    Pricing

Pricing for the 860 EVO starts at $94.99 and the 860 PRO starts at $139.99.
