Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus gets March security patch update.

If you own either of the latest Samsung flagships — Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, be on the lookout for the security patch update for the month of March. Post rolling out to budget-friendly Galaxy A8 (2018) yesterday, Samsung is now seeding the latest security patch to Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus handsets.

It’s worth noting that the update is rolling over-the-air, so it may take a while before it hits your device. However, you can always check for the latest updates manually by navigating to Settings -> About Phone -> Check for Updates. Though the update won’t bring any new feature onboard, it’s recommended that you install the update as soon as possible. Needless to say, this update will fix several underlying bugs in the software and improve the overall performance.

The update weighs 242.70MB and comes with firmware versions G960FXXU1ARC5 and G965FXXU1ARC5 for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus respectively. We suggest you make sure that your device has at least 50% charge left before going for the update. Also, it’d be a good idea to do a complete backup of important files prior to downloading the update.
