The Korean tech giant has launched a new mid-tier phone Galaxy On Max in India for Rs. 16,900.

Samsung, on Friday, has officially announced a new budget-friendly smartphone in India. Dubbed Galaxy On Max, the device shares similar specifications with another of company’s recently announced handset, Galaxy J7 Max. The handset also comes for a very reasonable price of Rs 16,900, that roughly translates to $261.

As far as the specifications are concerned, it comes with a large 5.7-inch screen with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood is an octa-core MediaTek MTK P25 processor, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

For imaging, the device features a 13MP camera on the front as well as back. While the rear sensor is coupled with a f/1.7 aperture lens, the front sensor features a f/1.9 aperture lens. Also, there is a LED flash on the back to facilitate night photography. It is to be noted that the rear camera has a smart glow indicator, which is a LED ring used to alert the users of priority notifications from apps or contacts. The feature was first spotted on the Galaxy J2 Pro.

Galaxy On Max comes with Samsung Pay Mini service onboard.

Besides that, the phone features a social camera app that comes in handy while sharing your pictures to social medias. The app also makes editing pictures easier; you can add live filters and stickers to your pictures and share them instantly on Facebook, Google Plus, and such.

The Galaxy On Max also comes with company’s payment service application Samsung Pay Mini out of the box. In case you didn’t know, the application comes with UPI and mobile wallet integration. However, it does not support offline Tap and Pay using credit and debit cards like the Samsung Pay app. In other words, Samsung Pay Mini is a watered-down version of the Samsung Pay, made to extend payment service for mid-range phones. The phone will be available in Black and Gold color variants in the country.
