See Sense, a tech company focused on enhancing performance, enjoyment, and safety for cyclist around the world, is coming up with a cutting-edge new bike light powered by AI. After the successful run of the See Sense Intelligent light and See Sense ICON, the startup is taking its commitment toward using technology for safer cycling experience to the next level with its See Sense ACE bike light – an intelligent, connected, cyclist-led design with “big vision for you and your city”.

The AI tech used in this bike light is capable of monitoring and reacting to every moment of a rider’s journey. It also senses the environment around you and adjusts its brightness and frequency accordingly, flashing fastest and brightest at moments when you need good visibility the most, at roundabouts, junctions, when facing approaching car headlights and more.

    Intelligent Lighting

ACE is the fourth-generation product from See Sense that is designed to improve daylight visibility for cyclists. Combing five years of R&D with practical ideas and feedback shared by the cyclist community associated with the venture, the company has developed this lighting product that ranks high on innovation without compromising on performance.

    See Sense ACE

ACE uses custom Chip on Board (CoB) LED technology where high lumen output produces a panel of light. This has two-fold benefits over traditional LED lights – firstly, the brighter and stronger beam of light is easily visible, just like lights of an automobile, from a distance of more than a mile, and secondly, the wider dispersal of light offers improved visibility to rider not just in a straight line but also on the sides. This smart bike light is also designed to react to ambient light, offering greater output in daylight as compared to nighttime, thereby minimizing dazzle effect on oncoming road users.

Intuitive Functionalities for Safe Cycling Experience

The See Sense ACE light goes beyond just illuminating the rider’s path and focuses on making the cycling experience more enjoyable and safe. The onboard sensors gauge record changes on-the-go several hundred times per second, the AI then uses this information to tune in the ACE with a rider’s unique riding style and environment. In addition to these cutting-edge features, ACE also with a whole range of simple but essential functionalities such as auto-activation of standby mode if the bike has been stationary for more than three minutes and instant reactivation upon movement. The light is weatherproof and designed to work, come sunshine, rain, snow or sleet, and lighter and smaller than any other See Sense offering.

It is also extremely versatile in terms of installation and can be easily strapped onto the handlebar, seatstay, seatpost, aero seatpost, backpack, saddle bag, jersey pocket, or belt. Charging the ACE bike light is easy, as it can be plugged into any USB charging port, be it in your phone charger, power bank, laptop, or desktop. It takes two hours to top up the battery to capacity, which then gives around 10 hours of runtime as opposed to nearly 3 hours offered by other lights in the segment.

The device has already collected over £107,918 on Kickstarter against the pledged goal of £30,000. It is expected to start shipping in June 2018. As for the pricing, you can get an ACE rear light for £25 from Kickstarter, which is over 35% off on the expected retail price. You can check out the full details of See Sense ACE here.
