We already know how the forthcoming Xperia XZ1 will look like; thanks to the yesterday’s leaked renders. And finally, Onleaks has yet another important leak in store for us. It’s none other than the compact variant of the forthcoming flagship device – Xperia XZ1 Compact – which should feature a smaller 4.6-inch display with the same Galaxy-S8 grade specs inside.
The new leaks suggest that Sony might just retain the huge bezels on the top and bottom of the display. If the leaks are true, we may not see any notable differences in the design side of things. In fact, the XZ1 Compact looks just like the XZ1 that we’ve seen in the previous leak. And, that’s definitely not a good news for the Xperia fans who were anticipating a redesign from the company that’s been using the same design for quite a while.
The new renders courtesy of 91mobiles hints that the XZ1 Compact should have a metal unibody design. Besides that, you’ll find a front-facing camera (rumored to be 13MP), earpiece and other sensors at their accustomed locations. While the USB-C and noise-cancellation microphone are located at the bottom of the device, the 3.5mm headphone jack is found on the top. Apparently, Sony seems to be not as “courageous” as Apple to ditch the ‘traditional’ audio port.
Moving on to the left side, you’ll find a common slot for housing both the microSD and SIM cards. Meanwhile, on the right, there is the volume rocker button and the power button. And the latter should house the fingerprint reader on top of it.
Sony will be launching three new Xperia phones, including XZ1, XZ1 Compact, and X1, at the incoming IFA conference scheduled for next month. For the specs, the XZ1 Compact will have a 4.6-inch display, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage. Besides that, it should house the most powerful processor in the market, Snapdragon 835, along with a 2600 mAh battery to take care of your power needs.
I’m attaching all the leaked renders below, in case, you may want to check out.
