The Sony Xperia XZ1‘s launch is just around the corner, we’re talking about a matter of weeks now. While the phone is launching by the end of this month, leaks surrounding the Xperia XZ1 are in full force to reveal everything there is to know about the device. In fact, we’ve just received one of the most prominent leaks today that confirms some of the long-rumored features of the forthcoming smartphone.

Some popular Chinese blog that goes by the name “Digi-Wo” has just published a bunch of live pictures allegedly showcasing the Sony Xperia XZ1. While we are not sure about the authenticity of these pictures, it’s worth noting that they do look pretty legit and go in line with the previous rumors.

Speaking of the device in the pictures, I have only one word to say: Ugly! Contrary to rumors, the pictures showcase a Xperia XZ1 with huge bezels on the top and bottom. We were expecting Sony to fit an Infinity display, like the Galaxy S8, on the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ1, but if these leaks are true, Sony will retain the same old school design, like the XZ Premium, on its latest device. Not fair, Sony, not fair!

Although the design has nothing new to bring to the table, Sony is expected to pack top-of-the-line specs inside the XZ1 to compete against the current leader Galaxy S8. Speaking of which, a GeekBench listing has revealed that it should come with Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM. The listing and the newly leaked live-pictures have also confirmed one prominent aspect of the phone: It will come running Android 8.0 ‘O’ out of the box. The leak further points out that the fingerprint sensor on the Sony Xperia XZ1 might be located on the rear side.

All said, we suggest you take leaks such as these with a rather large pinch of salt!
