Sony is currently rolling out a new update to its Xperia XZ2 and XZ3 series of handsets. The update is available for 4 Xperia smartphones and that includes Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact, XZ2 Premium, and XZ3. It comes with the build number 52.1.A.0.618 and installs the latest security patches along with other bug fixes.

After updating to Android 10.0, several users have been complaining of annoying lags and a slower fingerprint scanner. And now, it appears that Sony has put an end to the issues with the new update.

The update has also improved RAM management and restored the HDR content viewing capabilities of Sony Xperia XZ3, according to users.

Recapping the specs, Sony Xperia XZ2 is a 2018 phone that features a 5.7-inch Full HD+ HDR display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4/6GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 19MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and 3180mAh battery. Its compact variant, the XZ2 Compact, has a 5.0-inch Full HD+ HDR display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 19MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and 2870mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the premium variant of the XZ2 series — XZ2 Premium — is fitted with a massive 5.8-inch 4K HDR display. Besides that, the handset packs 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, dual rear cameras (19+12MP), a 13MP front-facing camera, and a 3540mAh battery.

The successor Xperia XZ3 has a 6.0-inch QHD+ HDR display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4/6GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 19MP rear camera, a 13MP front camera, and 3300mAh battery.

Although they came with an older version of Android out of the box, Sony has already rolled out the latest Android 10.0 update to these devices.
