T-Mobile is rolling out a new update for their Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus devices.

After seeding the June security patch updates for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices a few days ago, T-Mobile is now rolling out a new update to their Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones. Unlike the update on the Galaxy S7 series, the latter phones are getting a few other features along with the June security patches.

So, what’s new with the update:

    • New navigation bar – This will enable users to see more of the display without navigation concealing it. Speaking of which, the feature is made possible by adding a fix/hide icons option to the left-hand side of the bar. Also, the update has made changes to the range of available background colors. However, after updating your device, the background color will be set to the default color.
    • Device security enhancement

The update is currently rolling out over-the-air (OTA), so it may take a while before it hits your device. However, if waiting is not your thing, you can head over to Settings -> About Phone -> Check for updates.

Nonetheless to say, make sure that your device has at least 50% of charge before installing the update. Also, we suggest you do a backup of important data before hitting the download button, for obvious reasons.

Recalling the specs, Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch display and is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor. Besides that, it has 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 3000 mAh battery, a 12MP rear camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

On the other hand, Galaxy S8 Plus is a bigger variant of Galaxy S8, featuring a 6.2-inch display, Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera and a 3500 mAh battery. However, unlike S8, the S8 Plus is available in two storage variants: 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage and 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage.
