These upcoming Xiaomi handsets will also feature always-on displays.

Folks over at XDA Developers have dug up information regarding two upcoming Xiaomi phones, Xiaomi Comet and Xiaomi Sirius. According to the website, these Xiaomi phones will come powered by a yet-to-launch Qualcomm midrange chipset, Snapdragon 710.

Besides that, both the handsets will feature OLED panel along with Always-on display feature. The Always-on display feature should be similar to what we’ve seen on Samsung flagships that takes advantage of the OLED screen to light up parts of the screen with a clock or some other widget without causing noticeable impacts over the battery life.

It’s worth noting that both the devices share a similar story when it comes to hardware specs. Speaking of which, the Xiaomi Comet and Sirius will have DUAL SIM capability, IR blaster, and run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. However, the latter is said to boast a slightly bigger battery (3120mAh) than the former (3100mAh).

In case you’re wondering about the 710, it’s an upcoming midrange chipset from Qualcomm featuring two customized ARM Cortex-A75 cores. Along with that, the chipset houses six customized ARM Cortex-A55 low-end cores. Other than that, we don’t know much about the chipset as of now, nor is it clear how they’d compare with other midrange chipsets including the Snapdragon 636.

The Snapdragon 710 will be the first chipset to join the Snapdragon 700 line announced at the MWC 2018.
