There is a new Kickstarter campaign in town to fund a USB To UART Converter that can connect an Arduino Pro Mini to a PC. Though there are hundreds of thousands of such converters in the market, it’s worth noting that a plenty of them face issues with the drivers thanks to the use of fake chips under the hood. However, this Kickstarter campaign boasts that they are using the FT231XQ chip to power their converters.

On top of that, this USB To UART converter also features a digital isolator working between 2.5V and 5V up to 3Mboud to provide protection against short circuits. The digital isolator is present at the UART side and a Si8642 chip is used for isolating the board from the PC.

In terms of connectivity, the device comes with a micro USB on one side for connecting to the PC, while on the other side, you’ll find a 6-pin header with the same pin-out of the Arduino Pro Mini. It measures 40x17mm in size and comes with TX and RX LED indicators.

The Isolated USB To UART Converter is already well funded over its pledged goal of $621 and there are 6 days left before the campaign ends. So, if you wanna learn more about this teeny device and/or have one for yourself, you can head over to the source link below. A minimum pledge of €12 will fetch you one USB-UART converter that will start shipping from March this year.
