Xiaomi is a brand which is very well-known for introducing a large number of devices in a year. Their product portfolio is getting more and bigger. Recently, they announced two new smartphones namely Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3.
The recently unveiled Mi Note 3, however, failed to get the Xiaomi fans excited, as it just turned out to be a Mi 6 but with a larger display.
A new device by Xiaomi spotted online
Recently, an unknown smartphone just passed through a GFXBench test. The device is manufactured by Xiaomi and is codenamed as “Chiron“. Namely, the test revealed some of the key specs of the forthcoming Chinese smartphone including its display, processor, and camera.
Xiaomi Chiron has a 5.6-inch full HD display with 16.5:9 aspect ratio. This aspect ratio seems quite odd. We have seen both 17:9 and 18:9 aspect ratios in Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2 respectively. On top of that, the resolution of the screen in the device is tipped to be 1080×1980.
In terms of performance, the device will come with an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz paired with Adreno 540 GPU. However, there is no information on the exact chipset used in the smartphone. Xiaomi Chiron will also feature 6GB of RAM and whopping 256GB of internal storage on board.
On the camera front, the phone is supposed to have a 12MP rear camera capable of recording 4k 2160p videos. For selfies, the brand might go for a 5 MP front camera.
The smartphone is going to run on Android 7.1 Nougat with Xiaomi’s latest user interface, MIUI 9, on top.
What about the device actual name?
Now the biggest question still remains unsolved. The GFXBench listing revealed a lot about this upcoming smartphone, but it failed to provide its actual name.
We also don’t have any specific idea about the processor on which the device runs, although it is widely believed that the smartphone will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Xiaomi is already working on various other smartphones including Mi 7, Mi 6 Plus and Mi Note 3 Plus. Xiaomi Chiron could be called anything out of this three model.
The specs of Xiaomi Chiron hints that a possible flagship from the Chinese firm might be on the way to the markets soon.
