The Xiaomi Mi 5X with MIUI 9 and dual camera setup will launch on July 26. It will be the company’s first phone under the Lanmi sub-brand.
Remember the Xiaomi Mi 5X leak that we reported two days ago? Well, there seems to be a new lead in the story regarding the smartphone. The Chinese company is sending media invitations for a July 26th event where it will launch the Xiaomi Mi 5X. Thanks to the official promo poster, we now have an idea of what we can expect from the device.
The poster hints at a dual camera setup in the back along with dual-tone LED flash. It is also pretty clear from the picture that the phone will feature a metal unibody design. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back side as well. In addition to that, the promo poster also reveals that the phone will run MIUI 9 out of the box.
According to previous rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 5X will come with a large 5.5-inch screen with FullHD (1920 x 1080p) resolution. Under the hood, the phone is expected to house a rather old Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB of RAM. Also, it is rumored to carry a price tag of 1,999 Yuan or $296 in China.
It is worth saying that an SD625-powered phone for $300 sounds like a total bummer, so we suggest you take these specs with a pinch of salt. While on the upside, there is a speculation that the phone will instead come with Snapdragon 660 processor and 6GB of RAM on board.
The primary target of the new sub-brand, Lanmi, is to shoot up the offline sales of Xiaomi phones in China, and compete against other Chinese companies like Oppo and Vivo in the offline market.
