The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5X, with model number MDG2, passes the FCC certification, further confirming the 3000 mAh battery.
The much-rumored Xiaomi phone, the Mi 5X (model number: MDG2), finally passes the FCC certification test, which means that the phone could become official anytime soon. Although the certification doesn’t reveal many details regarding the phone, it has, however, confirmed the rumor stating that the phone could pack 3000 mAh battery inside.
The Chinese company, in a media invite, has already confirmed that the phone will launch this July 26th. It is also clear from the promo poster that the device will feature dual rear cameras with dual tone LED flash. However, no details regarding the sensors and their resolution are known at the moment.
According to previous rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 5X will come with a 5.5-inch FullHD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, and 4GB RAM. The price of the device is rumored to be 1,999 Yuan that translates to around $296.
The Mi 5X will mark the first smartphone under the new Xiaomi sub-brand, Lanmi. The primary target of Lanmi phones will be to shoot up the offline sales of Xiaomi phones in China, and compete against the well-established offline retailers like Oppo and Vivo.
Even before the official launch, the smartphone is up for pre-orders on Mi.com, and reports are surfacing that the device has already crossed the 200,000 mark within the first 12 hours. Also, the photos under the listing reveal that the handset will be available in three color variants, namely, Black, Gold, and Rose Gold.
The photos also reveal that the smartphone features a metal unibody design, with thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. Based on the pictures, you’ll find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port and a speaker setup on the bottom. The volume rocker and power/unlock button are located on the right side of the device, while there are a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear side.
