In case the recently released Xiaomi Redmi 5 with 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM options weren’t enough for you, Xiaomi has now quietly released yet another variant sporting more gigs of RAM. The new variant rocks 4GB RAM and will set you back an extra $31 over the 3GB RAM version. Xiaomi cited popular demand as the reason for the new release. Sure, because no one would prefer buying a 3GB RAM handset in 2018, let alone the one with 2 gigs.

In terms of specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 features 5.7-inch 720x1440p display, Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor, and 3300mAh battery. In terms of imaging, it has a 12MP rear shooter and a 5MP selfie camera. It runs MIUI 9.1 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, however, the handset should receive Oreo update anytime soon.

The new 4GB RAM variant comes with the same storage option as the 3GB RAM variant. Which means you’ll be getting a 32GB of onboard storage for a price of 1099 Yuan or $174. However, the phone is available for purchase only via Xiaomi’s Chinese online store, and currently, there’s no info whether or not will it make to other markets across the globe. Fingers crossed!
