Here is a roundup of everything we know so far about Sony Xperia XZ Pro-A.

Just when we thought the Xperia XZ2 was going to be Sony’s first flagship phone of 2018, a new handset dubbed Xperia XZ Pro-A comes out of the blue with leaks suggesting that it might come with Galaxy S9-grade specs.

The handset made it to the headlines after featuring in a listing that leaked out of China’s micro-blogging site Weibo recently. In case you didn’t know, the listing allegedly features the devices to come out in 2018 featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. I’ve attached the leaked listing below, in case you wanna check out:

The Xperia XZ Pro-A will feature Snapdragon 845 chip

For the sake of comparison, the new Snapdragon 845 chipset should offer 25 percent better performance and 15 percent lower battery usage than last year’s Snapdragon 835. The SD845 will undoubtedly power most of 2018’s major flagships, including Sony’s own Xperia XZ Pro-A and Xperia XZ2/XZ2 Compact.

So, without further ado, let’s talk about everything we know so far about Sony’s first flagship phone of 2018:

Sony Xperia XZ Pro-A Specs (Rumored):

Expectations are, without a speck of doubt, sky high for Sony Mobile heading into 2018. And if the rumored specs of the Xperia XZ Pro-A are true, Sony Xperia fans are definitely in for a treat. Speaking of which, the Xperia XZ Pro-A paid a visit to GeekBench in November 2017, thus revealing some of its key specs.

As per the GeekBench listing, the smartphone will feature a giant 5.7-inch FullHD (1920x1080p) display. Besides that, other key specs include 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The listing, however, did not specify the model name of the processor that is going to power the device. But, thanks to the recent leak, we now know that it is going to feature Snapdragon 845 chipset under the helm.

Another highlight of the XZ Pro-A is that it is said to run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The new version has only started rolling out to Google Pixel devices recently, with the widespread adoption expected to happen in 2018. It’s an incremental upgrade over the 8.0, with a major focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

    The Expected Launch

Aside from just listing the smartphones that could feature Snapdragon 845 chipset, the leaked list also purports what is seen to be the launch date of the respective devices. If the leak is anything to go by, the Xperia XZ Pro-A will see the light of the day in June 2018, while the much-awaited Xperia XZ2 will hit the markets only in October 2018.

Then again, since we are talking rumors here, just don’t forget to add the usual pinch of salt to the above information.

That’s all we know about the upcoming Xperia XZ Pro-A smartphone so far, however, we will be updating this article as new leaks and rumors hit the web. So, make sure to bookmark this page in case you don’t wanna miss any new updates.
