Blackberry might launch their very first bezel-less smartphone sometime this summer, according to renowned smartphone leaker Evan Blass.

Evan, back in February, tweeted that a new Blackberry branded handset that goes by the name BlackBerry Ghost is in the works, that will feature a bezel-less design along with high-end hardware specifications.

In that tweet, he had also noted that the handset is being designed and manufactured by Optiemus Infracom, the firm that holds the licenses to Blackberry’s brand in India. However, it’s not clear whether or not the device will have an exclusive release only in India.

We haven’t heard pretty much anything regarding the handset since then, until Blass on Thursday tweeted that it could release sometime this summer. He also added that the dual rear camera setup of this device could feature low-light enhancement and optical zoom.

Evan Blass tweets that the much-anticipated BlackBerry Ghost with bezel-less design could launch this summer.

The upcoming BlackBerry Ghost is expected to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6, and LG G7 ThinQ. It could likely feature the most powerful mobile chipset released thus far — Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and pack up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

It sure seems like TCL, the parent company behind smartphone brands like Alcatel and BlackBerry, has huge plans for 2018. The firm is all set to launch the successor to last year’s BlackBerry KeyOne, dubbed BlackBerry Key2, on June 7 at a press event in New York.

The BlackBerry Key2, unlike the incoming BB Ghost, is a mid-range handset that is said to feature a 4.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a display resolution of 1620×1080 pixels. Other expected specifications include Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB RAM, and 3500mAh battery.

The main highlight of the Key2, however, has to be the brand’s iconic QWERTY keyboard upfront. Dubbed An Icon Reborn, BlackBerry on Friday released a teaser video showing off the dual rear cameras, physical keyboard, and a new app drawer button of the soon-to-be-unveiled Key2.
